Palos Verdes Beach & Athletic Club at Roessler Point, Palos Verdes Estates (August 15, 2017)

(I apologize that my knowledge of Blogger and HTML is minimal, and I have managed to place images within the borders of other images repeatedly, creating multiple frames. I'm not sure how to get rid of them without starting over, which perhaps I will do later.)

As I have probably already mentioned, one of the reasons I loved working at the Palos Verdes Library District's Peninsula Library, was the fabulous community it was nestled in.

After Don and I drove to his work at Aerospace in El Segundo around 6:00 A.M., I would have at least a few hours, after the drive to Palos Verdes, to explore before my shift.

One of the spots I enjoyed was this area of the peninsula at the far North end of Palos Verdes--part of the section called Palos Verdes Estates, that looks towards Redondo Beach.

On this particularly cloudy August morning (8/15/2017), when I first arrived here at Roessler Point, my welcoming encounter was this placid cat lounging under a shrub with a food and water bowl just kitty-steps away. The community mascot?

Lovely place, right? Sadly, according to the website, "the Club now has a membership of 640 families, with a waiting list of approximately 211 families. Membership applications may be obtained from the Club."
And here's a little excerpt from the PDF about membership---

Member Cost:
Initiation fee:
$ 8,000 (Resident)
$16,000 Resalable
$ 9,000 (Non-resident)
$18,000 Resalable
Member dues: (monthly)
$215 (Resident)
$235 (Non-resident)
Fee: $30 - City residents, non-member day-use $20 City residents under 18 years-old

Pricey!  And, it would appear, if you are a non-resident AND a non-member, day use is not an option.

But admiring and photographing is free!

Thanks for visiting!
